Hey there, I’m Jessica Evans.

I cannot remember a time when my life didn’t revolve around words in some way. I grew up reading, writing, and dreaming of doing exactly what I get to do now: write. These days, my efforts center around witch lit and adjacent genres - hist fic, spy thrillers, and everything in between. Whatever genre I’m writing, it all comes from the same place - the fusion of my expat life and my love of languages.

No matter where I am in the world, my central goal is always the same: to foster a vibrant community, extend a helping hand to fellow writers, and serve as a source of encouragement. I'm fortunate to have a network of support behind me. Among those supporting my journey is Amy Collins of Talcott Notch Literary Services, whose partnership is invaluable in navigating the literary landscape.

I’m the founder of Evans Editorial, a bespoke writing coaching service that focuses on taking your stories and making them shine. My skills have been sharpened via three Pushcart nominations, a Best of the Net nod, a Wigleaf Top 50 nomination, and an MFA in Fiction from Spalding University's Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing. Currently, I serve as a developmental editor for Uncharted Magazine, Fractured Lit, and 2nd Draft.

Community service is also close to my heart. I volunteer my editorial expertise to the Veteran’s Writing Project, empowering military-connected writers. I also offer free 20-minute sessions to all writers via Evans Editorial.

When I’m not in my chair writing, you can find me in one of three places: at the gym, in the kitchen, or reading a book. Want to find out more? Check out my Linktree, book an Office Hours session, or just come say hello online.
